In case you have not heard, which I doubt, Project Runway Junior is the latest new competition series for youths aspiring to be in the fashion design industry! Now, it has only had one running season but there is a bit of disagreement as to whether or not this is a hit or a miss! This article will give you the inside deal about why Project Runway Junior was absolutely amazing!

Just a little background info on the show. Project Runway Junior features only designers between the ages of 13 and 17. They are all kids who, in theory, grew up watching the first show, Project Runway. It is co-hosted by Tim Gunn and Hannah Davis, while Tim Gunn also serves as their work room critic and counselor. In his job as their work room counselor, he has one “Tim Gunn Save” in which he can protect one designer from being eliminated based on his evaluation of the panel’s decision.

The three judges are very well selected as they each have an outstanding fashion portfolio! Christian Siriano was a great choice due to him being one of the first winners of Project Runway back in its fourth season. He is standing in its truth, serving as an awesome example that one can truly turn this competition as a n opportunity to rise to fame. He is now worth millions of dollars with a strong presence at Fashion Week, on the internet and in stores world wide. Kelly Osbourne is a widely known fashion designer and critic. With her zaney style and budding edge, she serves as a great means of creativity for the judges. With the other two being slightly more conservative, she adds a nice balance of crazy and cool. Aya Kanai is the third judge who has a long history of being a phenomenal fashion critic. She has been the executive fashion editor at Cosmopolitan and Seventeen for years now and has demonstrated her strong sense of what’s hot and what’s not!

The prizes for the winners include that they “will receive a full scholarship to the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandisingin California, a complete home sewing and crafting studio provided by Brother, a feature in Seventeen Magazine and a $25,000 cash prize, to help launch their lines.” If that isn’t enough to sell you then think about the fact that these kids have no slack from the judges or the cohosts simply because of their ages! They are making sure that the contestsants receive the same amount of criticism and challenge that adults would. This works well to build character and strengthen their ability to adapt under working circumstances! That not only says a lot about the sincerity of the judges but the credibility of the young designers themselves!

After binge watching the entire first season myself, I can honestly say that Project Runway Junior is indeed on the same level if not better than the original Project Runway! The heart racing intensity and up and downs of the plot line really help to draw you in! Then, the artistic amazement is simply priceless. I have never been more engaged in a competition show in my life! The season two air date has not yet been released. However, if you are at all interested in a great mix of competition and fashion passion then you will be on the look out for its premiere!
