Even though I’d been dating my husband for years and years, the moment we got engaged, for some reason a shock wave went through my body, as I thought:  “fuck, am I now old?” – It was one of those moments where you look around, hoping to find comfort from your friends who are all in the same position, but alas, none of my friends were even close… Until Bambi came along and saved the day.

Bambi got engaged to the love of her life, Dan, only days after Oli and I did. They got married around the same time too. Chatting about wedding dresses, failed attempts at flower arrangements, planners and more; it was nice to be able to share the experience and relate to someone, especially since getting married in NY is such a rarity; and often confuses the forever-single population.

Bambi is, by far, one of my most energetic and exciting friends. Without even trying, she becomes the center of attention in any conversation – and not just because of her mesmerizing brows. She’s so carefree and always blissfully floating on this love cloud with Dan… it’s hard to imagine she could ever be fazed by much at all.

Bambi and I have had some very interesting nights involving wine, failed dinners and tinfoil…  She lives with one of my best friends, James, which is an accomplishment in itself (I love you James!), but she is truly a powerhouse in her own right.

Bambi has dipped her fingers in all areas of the modeling realm, hitting the international circuit walking for rag & bone, Topshop Unique, Chanel and Balenciaga and closing for Diesel at the Spring/Summer 2010 shows. She commands the runway like an absolute boss and the first time I saw this, I had no doubt that she was well on her way to a long and triumphant career.

In 2011, Bambi was chosen to be the face of Calvin Klein’s CK One fragrance, starring in a campaign photographed by Steven Meisel. In the same year, she scored the cover of Vogue Nippon, shot by the red-hot duo, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

And then, to top off an amazing year, Bambi was featured as the face of H&M’s Spring 2011 ad campaign, followed shortly by effortless runway walks for the likes of Jill Stuart, Chanel and Thierry Mugler. Just some of the minor accomplishments on the long list of this genetically blessed Aussie model.

Please welcome, one of our girls, Bambi-Northwood-Blythe Single.
