Do you want to look naturally modelesque all of the time? Well this is the article for you! Sometimes as individuals we need to feel beautiful but on a budget. Here are 5 DIY beauty recipes that you can make for cheap that will allow you to stop splurging on million dollar skin care and hair care every time you get a blemish or a split end.

DIY PROTIEN MASK FOR HAIR

If you have damaged, fragile hair then it is more than likely that you are in need of some serious protein. This mask will help you restore your hair back to it’s proper health and give your strands the strength they need to stop breakage. All you need to do is mix one egg, three scoops of plain mayo, and a nice amount of olive oil in a bowl. Then, heat for 1 minute. Apply this thoroughly throughout the hair from root to tip and sit with a plastic cap for AT LEAST 30 minutes. Afterwards, rinse the hair thoroughly with cool water to seal in the nutrients. Repeat on a weekly basis for extremely damaged hair!

DIY SHINE TREATMENT

Do you have dull hair that lacks lustre? If so then this treatment is for you. This is known as a hot oil treatment. But, what many people do not know when they do this is that it is best to mix oils to get the maximum benefit as opposed to using only one. You are going to mix three of the best oils for shine in a bottle: safflower seed oil, grapeseed oil and argan oil. Then, place the bottle in a steaming hot bowl of water for 30 seconds to a minute to warm it up. Shake well and apply from root to tip. Allow this to sit for at least 30 minutes. When you rinse, your hair will be silky smooth and light will bounce off beautifully.

DIY MOISTURE TREATMENT FOR HAIR

Is your hair very dry and course? Does it seem like you just can’t retain softness. Good news, we have the solution! Grab a bowl and mix one table spoon of honey with a generous amount of coconut oil and castor oil. Honey is a natural humectant which will help your hair draw moisture from the air. Coconut oil is great for penetrating the hair shaft for a deep moisturization and castor oil is amazing for adding thickness, shine and longevity. Apply thoroughly and let it sit for at least an hour. This mask does not need to be heated.

DIY ANTIAGING MASK

Are you starting to see some ageing in your skin that you are not too fond of? You might be surprised to know that some of the ingredients in your kitchen have a stronger effect on the skin than what you buy in a bottle. Mix half a ripe papaya, a teaspoon of honey and a 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice in a bowl or blender. Apply to the face and allow it to sit your desired time. Over time, the vitamins and enzymes from the papaya help to fight wrinkles, the honey adds moisture and the lemon juice brightens the skin. This mask is to be used weekly to see long term results!

DIY BLEMISH BALM MASK

This mask is awesome for those who are struggling with acne or are breaking out. Beware that this is a deep cleansing mask and can leave your skin tingly or slightly red if sensitive. Taking a half teaspoon of lemon juice and a couple of teaspoons of baking soda, apply to the face and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. If done regularly, you can see improvement in the clarity of your skin!
